Letter From Rhys - Week #18 - Early White Christmas!

Feliz Lunes from the tropical land of the Republica Dominicana!

This past week has been pretty dead as the work is concerned but it was all because we spent our entire week preparing our investigators for baptism! YAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!  I’m happy to report that our work paid off!  We had 2 baptisms this past weekend!

Sadly, we were unable to get one of our investigators married before her fecha [date] and so she was not baptized... But the other two were super solid!  Their names are Jeanette an Leo!  They’re super cool and have a lot of enthusiasm for the gospel of Jesus Christ!



This past week Elder Portillo had to go to Gazcue to renew his visa, so I spent Friday morning in the office cleaning and organizing packages.  The rest of our Friday then consisted of studying and talking with our investigators preparing them for their baptismal interviews.  Thursday, the night before, we had our ward Christmas party!  It was supposed to start at 7:00, but didn’t start until 8:20 and didn’t finish until 11:00.  It’s obvious to say we were not there for the whole thing; we were in our apartment by 9:30.

We did absolutely nothing on Thursday, too, because of a district meeting in the morning and weekly planning.  Wednesday and Tuesday just kind of blur together... I’m sorry, I feel really bad right now because there’s nothing super interesting for my report this week.  It really was just a bland week and really not much happened, sadly...

Well on that note, I’m going to be including pictures of the baptism this past week and I’ll try to get more in very soon!  I Love you all so much!  Sorry for the really short letter this week! Bye!!!!!

Letter from Kelson #9 - I am still alive and Kicking!!!

Good Morning From Sunny California!!! CAN I GET AN AMEN!!!!!....(PLEASE PROCEED TO SHOUT OUT LOUD "AMEN", THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING). This past week was super awesome, but also challenging beyond belief. This past week was the last week of the transfer and things were going crazy. We started of the week with a full white board of people to tech and bring the Gospel to, and by Friday we had maybe 2 people left. Everyone just started dropping like flies!!! We were unable to make contact with any of them, we had people tell us that they will not be continuing to learn from us, and we also had people ignore us when we stopped by... A bit of discouragement was really hitting us hard this week. We were struggling all week to try and fill our days with things to do and people to teach.
