Good Morning From Sunny California!!!! It is a beautiful day in the lovely land of California. The sun is shining, the trees are blowing in the wind, the people are just lining up to be baptized, and it all happens to be a manageable temperature of around 90 degrees. This past week has been super FUN!!! Elder Forsgren and I have been getting along like 2 peas in a pod, except for a little quirk of mine that I need a lot of work on. I have this inability to accept other peoples' service and charity. I can give it all day long, but then when people offer things to me, or try to serve me I just shoot them down and it makes them feel bad...I don't do it on purpose but it just happens. I am working on that and by small and simple means am I learning to become a service receiver, not a provider...hehe Anyway, like I said, this week had been super fun. We have been going crazy with people who want the gospel. This week we taught 19 lessons, which if you think about it isn't r...
Feliz Lunes from the tropical land of Republica Dominicana! Sadly I can’t really remember all that has happened this week though I have it written in my journal, which happens to not be with me right now :-) So, I’ll just talk about the things that are most memorable! This past Saturday, WE HAD A BAPTISM!!!!!!!!!! It was a cool young man named Brian. He's 11 and has been attending church on his own for quite some time now. Anyway, it was such a cool experience to go to the service and perform the baptism. We actually showed up late, sadly, because my companion Elder Smith, also being our district leader, had to go to Ozama at 3:00 to do a baptismal interview for the Hermanas [Sister Missionaries] in that area. They’re super cool, by the way, and there’s a picture coming in with some photos that I’m uploading as I’m typing!!!!! YAY! Finally, Photos!!!!!!!!! We also had to do a couple more interviews these past couple days too, so basically...
Feliz Lunes de la isla tropica de la Republica Dominicana! It’s been long enough, you all should know what that says if you’ve been faithfully reading my letters! Also, at my request, have patience with the letters. My mother works very hard on the correcting and sending of my letters, but she also has a lot of sleep that she needs to catch up on! Love you mom! Anyway, the beginning of this past week wasn’t too exciting. However, we did have something interesting this happen this past week! On Thursday, Elder Aguilar and I went to Gazcue, aka the mission office, because he had to renew his visa at the immigration center. While I waited for him to return, I was on an exchange with another Elder in the office helping the Garner missionary couple sort all of the house keys for the mission! Let’s just say there were a lot of keys and trying to sort them and determine which were old and new took a long time! After Elder Aguilar returned, we headed home by way of bus, the usual...
