Letter From Rhys - Week # 32 – I Love to see the Temple!

Hey Guys! Feliz Lunes from the tropical land of the Republica Dominicana! This week as been a blast! We got to go to the temple with the mission! It was a super cool experience to go and participate in the ordinances of the temple! I was able to receive so much inspiration and a high spirit for the work as I went prayerfully seeking more knowledge! This past Saturday as well, two more missionaries moved into our apartment! Elder Esserine and his companion Elder Gamas! Elder Esserine is super cool and was in my previous zone for 3 of my 4 transfers there. But something else happened at the temple that I forgot to mention! I got new Spanish Scriptures!!!! POR FIN!!!!!!! Its super cool but they didn’t have a case for me to use so I have been working on making one with an old cardboard box in our apartment! It’s turning out really well, I just need some glue and something to make it look pretty! Other than those highlights, this week has been pretty boring in the uniqueness d

Feliz Lunes from the tropical land of the Republica Dominicana! This week, as you all are well aware, I have been moved to a new area! It’s called La Llave! The roads are mainly dirt with 4 main streets of asphalt in our area. Its Tiny! The members here are fantastic! They work so hard on making sure we have references to teach and they are always focused on sharing the gospel! My companion, Elder Walker, is a hard worker! He really works and focuses on helping people enter the waters of baptism. He’s about 6 feet tall, very scrawny and only loves to cook. Apparently, he doesn’t like anything else other than music. He’s also never specific about anything, so don’t ask him what type of music or food he likes. All I know is that he hates sweet and salty but loves hot stuff or picante. Though he’s from Jamaica, he says he can’t speak English. However, he can read and teach English without a hitch. He can translate from English to Spanish, and when we accuse him of being able

Buenas lunes from the tropical land of the Republica Dominicana! This week’s letter is going to be short and sweet because 1 – not much has happened this week and 2 – I don’t have much time... Anyway, last week I sent a little photo of something my companion made for me asking who’s my next companion! Well, ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, things of all shapes and sizes. The results are in and Elder Wheeler is......... GOOOOOING! Where you may ask?   Well, it’s a magical and not so far away place called La Llave! Which means the key. The key to what exactly? I have no freaking idea!!!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂   But, my new companion is Elder Walker and he’s from Jamaica. From what I have heard he’s super cool and our area is tiny. It’s like 3 blocks, but we’ll see how big it really is!   I’ll send pictures of me and my new companion when I can get them!   Anyway, I have spent basically the last few days packing everything in my house to go to my next are

Good morning from Sunny Californ... oh ... wait ... wrong one sorry! Feliz Lunes from the tropical land of the Republica Dominicana! This past week has been pretty peaceful on the part of teaching. We are doing a lot of contacting because our citas (appointments) fall or we can’t seem to find an Hermano (sister) to accompany us. However, a peak moment in this week’s adventures happened to come in a box, then the box was put into another box, and then mailed to myself! Well if any are wondering, no I did not smash it with a hammer. I will address this reference later. Anyway, in this box were some nice goodies! A nice Family size bag of Genocide that I shouldn’t love but tastes soo good {Reese´s Pieces}, along with a nice little Kinder egg, a bag of trail mix, and another bag of mini candy bars! Included with the development of much sugary tastey things, there was a smaller box with in the box! And in this box, were the 24 wonderful spices of life! Some may include but
